Description of levels of achievement
A 10-9
The portfolio demonstrates that the student has investigated all possibilities through reworking projects and through the production of additional artwork that exceeds the expectations for the course. Portfolio demonstrates participation in coursework daily and is organized.  The portfolio contains evidence of growth via artwork, goal setting, reflection, artist statements and artwork.  The portfolio contains evidence of continuous effort to improve self using sketchbook/journal/research, extra work, and manipulation of ideas.  The portfolio contains strong evidence of growth within the 5 criteria as a means to develop better work.

B  9-8
The portfolio demonstrates an effort to do what is required for the course with little or no reworking of ideas. The portfolio contains evidence of all assigned work. Portfolio documents participation in the course and is organized for the most part.  The portfolio contains above average evidence of growth within the 5 criteria as a means to develop better work.

C 8-7
The portfolio demonstrates some incomplete and/or late assignments. The portfolio demonstrates participation in class, but may not use time wisely. The portfolio contains some evidence of growth within the 5 criteria as a means to develop better work.

D 7-6
The portfolio demonstrates incomplete and/or missing work. Often does not participate in class and/or does not use time wisely.  The portfolio documents the student has great difficulty staying organized. The portfolio contains minimal evidence of growth within the 5 criteria as a means to develop better work.

F 6
The portfolio demonstrates little to no effort to participate in the class. The portfolio shows little to no growth within the 5 criteria as a means to develop better work.
